The results of the “Best by Right” competition have been summed up. The competition was established by the litigation financing service PLATFORMA with the aim of identifying the best lawyers and attorneys and rewarding them for their achievements in the field of jurisprudence.
The competition, held from November 2017 to February 2018, involved over 80 lawyers and attorneys from all over Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Volgograd, Omsk, Yekaterinburg, Ulyanovsk, Novokuznetsk, Saratov, Samara, Vladimir, Kemerovo, Ufa, Lukhovitsy, Cheboksary, Barnaul, Khanty-Mansiysk, Tolyatti, Veliky Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don).
To identify the best by rights, we conducted two votes: on the website and by the expert council.
We publish the names of the winners.
Expert voting
The winners of the expert voting were:
The main winner is Vyacheslav Chakilev (Krasnodar) with a case for awarding the largest compensation in Russia for the illegal use of the trademark “Cow from Korenovka” in the amount of 114 million rubles.
Winner in the special categories “pro bono” and “against the brand” Ksenia Mikhailichenko (Moscow) with the case of flight attendants against Aeroflot. For the first time in judicial practice, lawyers managed to recognize the requirements for the size of a flight attendant’s clothing as discrimination and cancel the local act that established an increased bonus for flight attendants of a certain clothing size.
Also the winners of the expert council were:
Ksenia Osipova (Novokuznetsk). The lawyer represented the interests of the defendant, who won a claim against the consumer for 3 million rubles, without proving the absence of defects in the car. The first use of estoppel in a dispute with a consumer.
Maxim Tafintsev (Moscow). The case of release from arrest and criminal prosecution of three fishing swimming bases of the SHILLA company (South Korea) in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Prizes:
The winner of the expert vote is awarded the right to participate in the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum in May 2018. The winner will also receive a 1-year license in the cloud version of XSUD, free annual placement in the Unified Directory of Lawyers PLATFORMA, an interview on the PLATFORMA blog.
The remaining winners and runners-up will receive free annual placement in the Unified Directory of Lawyers PLATFORMA, an interview in the PLATFORMA blog, as well as an annual subscription to the EZh-Lawyer newspaper, and six-month access to the maximum functionality of the Document Constructor Freshdoc.
The authors of the best cases will speak at the Legal Forum of the Vedomosti newspaper on April 13, 2018.

Popular vote
The winner of the popular vote on the website was Inna Zhavrid (Moscow) – 1121 votes. The lawyer represented the interests of the plaintiff, who entered into a voluntary insurance agreement for farm animals with the defendant.
The winner is awarded the right to participate in the Legal Forum of the Vedomosti newspaper on April 12-13, 2018, an annual placement in the Unified Directory of Lawyers, an interview in the PLATFORMA blog, as well as a collection of the best articles from the Legal Report portal.
The top 5 of the popular vote also included:
- Andrey Bender (Omsk) – 503 votes. The case is about the recovery of compensation for moral damages in connection with an incorrect diagnosis that led to the death of the patient.
- Evgeny Tarasov (St. Petersburg) – 261 votes. Cases in family law, including the cancellation of the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court of Rostov-on-Don on the return of four children to Germany and the cancellation of the decision of the Dzerzhinsky District Court of St. Petersburg on the return of the child to Germany.
- Alexey Kralin (Ekaterinburg) – 241 votes. A resident of Yekaterinburg sued road services for 250 thousand rubles. for an accident on an unimproved highway.
- Yuri Sazonov (Moscow) – 135 votes. The case regarding the release of the defendant from loan payments.
- Marina Komkova (Moscow) – 132 votes. Won a case to collect a debt for goods in the amount of 13 million rubles.
All participants included in the top 5 of the popular vote receive certificates for free access to the Internet version of the GARANT system for a period of 1 month. Participants who take first, second and third places are also awarded a collection of the best articles from the Legal Report portal.
